SPECIAL MEETING TO DISCUSS POSSIBLE OFF-LEASH DOG PARK
The Town of Discovery Bay Community Service District invites local residents to come join the discussion regarding a possible off-leash dog park. The community meeting will be held at Timber Point School (on Newport Drive), in the gymnasium on December 8th, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The District’s design consultant for the project, Bruce Jett Associates, will be presenting conceptual designs for the two possible locations. The sites under consideration include a turf area located on the eastern border of Slifer Park and a landscaped area north of the Park & Ride lot on Bixler Road. Long term maintenance requirements, preliminary budgets and timelines will also be discussed.
“We’ve received resident support and requests for a local dog park and understand there’s a need,” says District Board President, Kevin Graves. “This is just the first step in making the project a reality. Making it a successful one, will take input from our community. We encourage residents to participate in this community forum.”
Mark your calendars and come “shake” hands, “sit”, and “speak” your thoughts!
Note: This event was moved from Discovery Bay School, due to a Holiday Bazarre happening there 4-8pm.
